It’s just that important.
Here are a few ways fitness and exercise can help:
- Help body maintain muscle.
- Regulate blood sugar and insulin levels.
- Help manage depression and anxiety.
- Maintain flexibility.
Research grows daily in support of physical exercise and its impact on combating fatigue, reducing risk (for first time breast cancer diagnosis AND recurrence), managing stress, depression and anxiety, minimizing side effects of treatment and medication, improving quality of life for those living with metastatic breast cancer, improving mortality rates, and increasing survival.
“DAM. MAD.” provides fitness information and guidelines for all fitness levels and stages of the breast cancer continuum:
- Newly diagnosed (PREHAB)
- In treatment
- Survivorship
- Living with metastatic breast cancer
Speed and intensity isn’t the focus here, but these three tenets are:
- Slow better than no
- Dancing feeds your soul and yes, counts as exercise
